Opening Day at Maklmerica

Makl front door with Opening Day sign above door and Tigers Welcome Mat on the porch
Okay, so we've lost the first three games of the season. I'm not worried, just really anxious to get some cheering in for a winning game. Opening Day was perfect in every way except for the outcome of the game. Nick and Connie went all out for the party including Tiger give-aways between innings and take home bags of peanuts and crackerjacks. There were Kogel hot dogs, brats, and a wonderful buffet of salads and snacks. We had baseball cookies, baseball candies and a baseball basket holding chips. Connie embroidered towels with the English D and made coasters using Tigers wrapping paper. Nick and Connie both made the valances in the Tigers Room. Blue is for Home and orange for the Visitors. Abe, the official mascot for the day wore a very impressive Tigers tie. Here are a FEW pictures from the day.

Wow! What a great party. I'm a big baseball fan, but have never had an opening day party.

Oh, they lost, again, but I am soooo jealous of the party, why didn't I think of that? I could have worn my Travis Fryman shirt and my Cecil Fielder hat, swinging my Mickey Tettleton (what a gentleman) bat at every pitch. And I would have eaten about 32 of those pretzel things with the M&M's on top. mmmmm

Thanks for visiting me, and for sharing the Tigers, tee hee

Terrific idea! I love baseball, but have never thought to have an opening day party. Looks like great fun! I will have to remember that for next year!

Go Tigers! They will do better soon. I'm not a much a follower of baseball but I did hear that they are supposed to do really well this year, lots of talent! My dad and sister know Verlander and Inge (I don't know if I spelled either of those correctly, lol) from when they played with the White Caps in GR. Hey how did you manage to get your photos side by side?
