My LQS had several Halloween samples and I couldn't resist making this one. The center is an 8 1/2" square cut from a panel and then you use the instructions from The Understudy card by Pieced Tree. It was fun to make, but you do have to make sure that you get those half-square triangle units going the correct way. Ask me how I know that. This pattern would work nicely for any holiday.
My hibiscus is blooming in the back yard. The flowers are huge and remind me of Georgia O'Keefe paintings. Our weather has been beautiful!
Pretty hibiscus! Oh that Halloween quilt is as cute as it can be...perfect for a table.
ReplyDeleteCute project, Jeanne! That hibiscus of yours is gorgeous. Mine is languishing on the front porch, punishing me for pruning it. It's in a pot, and I have to bring it inside soon. Then it will punish me again by dropping all its leaves.....
ReplyDeleteWow, Jeanne -- that hibiscus is gorgeous! Love your little Hallowe'en project!!
ReplyDeleteLove your little Halloween piece. I can just imagine having to turn those when they weren't going the right way.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous flower...wow! I don't think I've ever seen anything like it! How does the stem hold up the weight of the flower...or does it bend over?
ReplyDeleteI just love your Halloween block. The flower is gorgeous. I think our cooler weather has helped them out this year.
ReplyDeleteYour Halloween quilt is darling. I like the concept of using that border/design and putting your own panel (or block) in the center. You could make a quilt for every season with the same pattern. Neat idea.
ReplyDeletethe Halloween topper is adorable, and that Hibiscus!!! THAT would make a GREAT wallhanging!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the halloween block. It would really look good in a full sized quilt.
ReplyDeleteHow is winter at your place? Here it is autumn, windy and rainy.
ReplyDeleteLove your table topper, it went together so well! Your hibiscus is huge! Bigger than your hand.
ReplyDeleteThat little Halloween quilt is adorable. I love your colors.

Love the block. The hibiscus, too!
ReplyDeleteMy GD painted the G. O'K painting one year in art class at school and she did a wonderful interpretation. Her parents have it framed and hanging in their living room.
ReplyDeleteKeep on stitching!
Your Halloween piece is oh so cute. I do like Halloween quilts!
