New Decade

I'm not sure how it happened, but I've entered a new decade of my life. Last Friday was my 60th birthday. It's still difficult to say. I'll get over it. So how did I celebrate the days leading up to the big day? They were spent in a hospital bed drinking clear liquids. The diagnosis was diverticulitis. I was told it happens to many people as they get older. Okay, rub it in, doc. Feeling much better today and working on another UFO. I started the applique center for Edyta Sitar's Medallion Quilt. The scrappy HSTs units were one of my Fantastic Friday projects from a couple of years ago.

There were a few finishes since my last post. I made a little purse for my granddaughter, Abby.

In our Civil War Tribute Club at the shop, we are exchanging album blocks. Twenty-four ladies signed up to swap. For once, mine are done, signed and delivered way ahead of the deadline.

Also working a small cross stitch piece from Prairie Schooler called "Songs of the Season", booklet #81.

Finally, I finished this little table runner from a Judy Ziosios kit. She teaches water color projects and photo transfer projects among other things.

Hi Jeanne I saw where you had a major birthday, and I decided to let you try this whole "60" thing for awhile and if you don't like it, let me know and I'm not going there. Sorry you were sick, but glad you are feeling better. The Medallion Quilt was the last top that I finished. I started it the year that it hung in Lollys. I love your little Civil War blocks. Take care.

Happy Birthday, Jeanne. You will need to watch out for: small seeds and popcorn. O my does popcorn hurt!

Happy Birthday. Sorry about the diagnosis, as a hemorrhoid surgery survivor, I totally sympathize with the rotten parts of aging. Isn't it terrific though, that stitching is neither, unhealthy, fattening or a sin? Just a teeny bit expensive at times. lol

All the best,
Susan in Texas

Jeanne, happy birthday! 1950 was a very good year--I was born then, too! My birthday is in November, so we are practically twins. I'm glad you're feeling better today. We share a love of applique--I think we were separated at birth. LOL Take care.

Happy Birthday! Sorry to hear that the aging process is playing havoc with your body recently...I guess there is no getting around it. Hope you feel well enough to stitch as you recover.
