Playing

Our UGRR group is now meeting at The Quilted Cottage to sew quilts for the UGRR shelter. Their set-up is wonderful and we can shop when we take a break. We layered and birthed and tied several quilts on Friday from 10-3. I turned in the kitty top. Then at 6:00 I was back at the shop for another Fantastic Friday. We were each given a cute Valentine fabric fat quarter and the dinner was grilled white fish, baked potato, salad and peach cobbler. Connie won the first drawing of the evening which was a coordinating fabric to the Valentine FQ. I continue my no win streak for FF.
scrappy trip around the world quilt blocks made with novelty fabrics

Stashbusting - I cut five yards of assorted fabrics (mostly novelty prints) to make Bonnie's Scrappy Trips quilt. I worked on a few blocks Friday night, but they seem too busy to me. Maybe the novelties weren't a good idea for this pattern or I need to stand way back when I look at them. What do you think? I made the photo small to protect your eyes.

Jasper likes to sleep on my legs or lap when I'm sitting in my chair. He really stretched himself out today while I was trying to do the stitchery on the applique blocks from several posts ago. At one point, he almost fell through, but he caught himself just in time.

I like it very much....We can make it bigger ya know. LOL I did and it's still looking good. I keep wondering what I was thinking when I look at some of the fabrics I've bought, but if I cut them up small enough, they look wonderful...hehee
Well, off to sew a bit before bed. Take care....

I think I saw green frogs and PINK MICE! Love it, and so will you when you get it done. And when I enlarged it--my computer monitor did NOT faint.

I think it's great! and what kid wouldn't love to find everything on there??? I think cats are the same everywhere, nice they let us use "their" furniture once in a while isn't it?

Your Trip around the world is very beautiful. Although It's a lot of cutting and piecing! Good luck, Jeanne!
(You need to rest with Jasper when you get tired for cutting!*S*)

When my DH sits in his chair, Baby Cat crawls us there and shares the chair with him. She snuggles up along side. When she stretches out, she lays across his legs. too. I like the scrappy quilt. Its great to have fun fabrics in there. I don't think it is too busy. Of course, I love scrap quilts.

Novelty prints usually make me think of kids and I don't think a quilt can ever be too busy for a kid . . . looks fine to me.

Ahhh - the life of a cat!!! Couldn't you just love a life like that?

I think the novelty prints are great - what fun it will be to find all the different little things hidden in the little blocks. Carry on!

I think our quilting partners sit in our laps to make us stay at it longer. That is what mine claims. Lovely work.

The blocks are busy, but I think a child will ABSOLUTELY LOVE looking for all the little treasures to find :)

I used scraps to create a Trip Around The World quilt as my Year 2000 quilt - yes it is busy, but I really like it. Yours looks great also! Sometimes its just nice to see a busy quilt because most of them are toned down.
