Orange Crush & Giveaway

Orange Crush Mystery Step 5 blocks & half blocks

It took awhile, but I am now caught up with the Orange Crush mystery! My machine was smokin' here the last few days sewing day and night. The photo shows my Step 5 blocks and half blocks which means I have now also finished Steps 2 & 3. It feels good to be on top of one project anyway. The orange and blue remind me of Detroit Tigers' colors, but they are currently a very sad story.

patriotic string blocks & coin strips

Over the Memorial Day week-end I sewed 30 patriotic string blocks and 160" of Chinese coins strips for Heartstrings. They will be mailed and used for soldier quilts. These made a huge dent in my red, white/tan & blue strips.

Click on over to Embroidery Stitches for an opportunity to win a bundle of Benartex fat quarters.

Hope everyone has a relaxing and productive day!

Oops! While browsing through the Orange Crush photos on the Yahoo list, I noticed four blocks that I hadn't done for Step 5. NOW I am caught up! The colors appear a bit washed out on this photo. The first photo is more true to what they fabrics look like.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog last week when I celebrated my first anniversary. Just spent a delightful time reading through your blog. What beautiful and amazing quilts you have made and are making. I consider myself a very beginning quilter and only dream of accomplishing what you have.

Hey Jeanne! Wow! You've been busy! But it's good that you're caught up because I posted your prize yesterday, so you can start harassing your postie while waiting for it's arrival and you'll be able to stitch straight away because you're all caught up!! Me? I'm WAY behind after my beloved Geek Boy shared his flu! RATS!! Will probably live, tho! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

Your blocks look so wonderful!
I'm afraid my orange is making me hate my blocks. But it's too late now to change it, so I just have to live with it. A little orange goes a long way, I think. I hope the final layout will tone it down?

Doesn´t it feel great when your sewing machine is so hot and smokin´? The progress is at least big.
