Pumpkin, DNP & More

pumpkin with smiling face, narrow lime green border with black rick rack and a 3 inch black border with BOO written in different colors
Remember that pumpkin I stitched at one of the Fantastic Fridays at my LQS? The season is approaching so I dug around to find the little block. I love the large rick rack that is out now and wanted to include that somehow in the border. My pumpkin block has grown into a flimsie! The fabric at the bottom of the picture will be used for the backing. I hope I can find an appropriate plaid or stripe for the binding in my stash.

Friday I sewed one set of the Disappearing Nine Patch blocks together. I haven't much of any of the fabrics left, so I might quilt it, bind it with the bright green and call it done unless I can find something in my stash. This one will go to the Underground Railroad. Annie is checking the kitty fabric for relatives.

I was excited to hear from Lurline who was celebrating her 200th post, that I had won her beautiful cathedral window bag. The fabric is great and it's very well made. Thank you, Lurline!

Congrats on the win, the bag is a cutie. Love your pumpkin quilt. I ironed my fall fabrics today and was going to cut into them but got sidetracked making a couple of other projects first. At least I was sewing.

Did Annie find anything interesting?

Love the pumpkin ... but I'm trying desperately to pretend fall isn't coming, so refuse to get out anything in fall colours!

Oh, how I love Halloween quilts! Your pumpkin block now turned flimsy is a hit. I like the use of the rick/rack (darn I don't know how it is spelled). And very appropriate fabric for the border and for the backing.

Love your pumpkin! That's great! Strolled back through some of the posts I've missed here, and enjoyed seeing your interpretation of May Britt's bag.

I can't wait to try a Disappearing Nine Patch. A few months ago I donated some 9 1/2 inch nine patches because I thought they were too big. Now I'll have to make more. :-) I love the pumpkin, too.

Thanks for the picture of the pumpkin - reminded me of a project I had put away that had rick-rack in it!
