It's still June!

I have been neglecting my blog! It's nothing intentional. The days just slip by too quickly and good intentions don't make a post.

Still keeping up with Circa 2016 and Farm Girl Vintage plus sewing the monthly Whatsnot quilts.

Farm Girl Vintage blocks

I've been working on a dorm quilt for my grandson and a quilt made from blocks swapped with my monthly Bee gals. Today, I finished a little needle case. Our Lunch Bunch group was given a little kit to finish before our next get together. I chose a Tigers' D on the front rather than flowers. It was a fun project and done rather quickly.

Feeling Lucky!

You know those Facebook posts where you are asked to leave a comment and maybe you'll be the winner of whatever prize is offered? I left a comment on the Fat Quarter post from Quilt Market and ended up winning a gorgeous bundle of Primitive Gatherings' fat quarters! They are almost too pretty to take apart.

More Farm Girl Vintage blocks...

And the Circa 2016 blocks from last Friday are done, also.

Pulled out a UFO from last summer that was the sew along for Temecula Quilts called Summer Sampler. I was a little over halfway done, but now it is ready for borders.

Slow Stitching Some Binding

General Jack is now complete! I finished the hand stitching for the binding today while watching the Tigers win their ballgame. It measures 44 inches square.

More Circa 2016 blocks from Friday.

And some Farm Girl Vintage blocks.

Mid May

The May Sleep At Home Retreat at The Cottage was last week. The machines were humming as we worked on various projects. First on my list was the latest Whatnots quilt called "Bountiful". This is one of my favorites of Kim Diehl's patterns.

Needed to keep up to date with the Circa 2016 blocks, so those were next.

Connie and I are making extra Farm Girl Vintage blocks for our QCU quilts. Last week I made the pumpkin and the tea kettle.

Yesterday I started the hand stitching for the binding on my General Jack quilt.

I probably did only half a dozen stitches when I got this helper on my lap.

Caught Up

Today I finished the two little Circa 2016 blocks from the April 22 post at Temecula Quilts. I am now up to date (until Friday).

I've also been working on the cross stitch pattern from my last post. Here is a picture of the pattern cover.

I'm using 18 count Aida so my sampler design will be about 10 inches square when finished.

Slow Stitching Sunday

I dug out another old UFO to work on the other day. This is a cross stitch piece by Linda Meyers based on the Jane Stickle quilt. Still lots of stitches left to do in this one. Linking up with Kathy at Slow Stitching Sunday.

More blocks for Farm Girl Vintage and Temecula's Circa 2016 quilts, too.

Still need to catch up with last week's Circa 2016 blocks. Loving these!

Update On Projects

Well, it's been awhile! I spent a wonderful four days in Shipshewana, Indiana at The Jane Stickle Quilt Retreat. It's so good to meet up with friends from all over the globe! The weather was so perfect that is was tempting to just be outside instead of indoors, sewing. Of course, that couldn't happen. You can
see a slideshow of the retreat and show and tell on Rosemary Youngs' Smilebox.

I worked on the latest Whatnots project for April. It's a lot of pieces, but I loved sewing them. This one is called "Pocket Change". The squares finish at one inch.

Sewed the two blocks for our Farm Girl Vintage quilt sew along and attached the sashings to the previous blocks.

More 3" blocks for the Circa 2016 quilt from Temecula Quilts.

At the last Sleep At Home Retreat I made pillowcases for the kids at Motts Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor.

My sister, Connie and I also worked on an old BOTM called Rosewood Cottage from over ten years ago. We made some progress. Hopefully, the blocks and sections will make their way onto the blog soon.

Finally, some color outside!

Have a great week!

Another binding...

This week I am binding a little quilt made from a Primitive Gatherings kit I made a few years ago. I love the little four patches which measure one inch finished and the cheddar fabric! It's almost done.

On Friday, my sister, Connie and I spent the day at The Quilted Cottage fussy cutting borders and sewing them onto the top. We had to cut pillar fabric down the middle, so it was a task not to be taken lightly. LOL Borders are attached and now I just need to miter the corners. The quilt is Cloverdale and uses fabrics from Di Ford. They are so pretty.

Here's my Six Shipshe Swappers quilt hanging on the wall above our TV!

Pattern goes to....

Kyle! Not much time to sew it before Easter, but you could be really early for next year!
