Nines & Hourglasses

Nine patch quilts are my favorite - scrappy nine patch quilts are even better. This perpetual UFO didn't deserve to be neglected for so long. My sister, Connie, and I each started this quilt years ago. In order to get more of a variety of fabrics for our nine patch blocks, we took turns making ten 3 inch nines from one fabric, keeping five and giving the others. The hourglass blocks we did ourselves. The quilt has an applique border of vines, flowers and leaves. I've had the blocks pieced into four sections for some time. Anyway, the center is now one piece waiting for the borders. I hope it doesn't wait too long.

Beautiful and clever use of fabrics for those hourglass blocks. They make the quilt shimmer. Stunning! I think I remember when y'all started in on this, too. Not entirely certain but it does sound familiar.

Amazing! What is that, king-sized? It looks huge and it is still waiting for borders. Wow. What a lovely lovely quilt that is going to be. I can't wait to see it completed.

Happy birthday Jeanne. I love the look of your new medallion (I went to the link and snuck in a peek).
It's amazing how similar our projects are at the moment! Bits of cross-stitch, and this and that. Good on you!

BTW, sorry to hear about your diverticulitis. (Now I need to go and look it up).

Hi... I had a question for you. I think I made this quilt some time ago, and it turned out wonderfully. Unfortunately, I loaned the book with the pattern to someone and never got it back, and now I have forgotten the title. Could you tell me what book this pattern came out of so I can get another copy? Thanks so much.
